Students

Raptor Visitor Management System is utilized to record visitor entrance onto our campus. Raptor allows our staff the ability to screen visitors, contractors, and volunteers against national registered sex offender databases, as well as any internal databases (i.e. custodial issues, restraining orders, prohibited contact).

Upon entering Resurrection, all visitors will be asked to present state government-issued identification (i.e. driver’s license, state ID card, United States Passport Card, military ID card), which will be scanned or manually entered into the system. If a parent or guardian does not have a government-issued ID, the school staff member can use any form of identification and manually enter the person’s name into the Raptor system with approval from an administrator. The Raptor system checks the visitor's name and date of birth for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders.

The registered sex offender database is the only official database checked by the Raptor system. No other data from the ID is gathered or recorded and the information is not shared with any outside agency. Once entry is approved, Raptor will issue a badge that identifies the visitor, the date, and the purpose of his/her visit. A visitor’s badge will not be necessary for those who visit our school simply to drop off an item in the office or pick up paperwork.

The safety of our students is our highest priority and the Raptor Visitor Management System allows us to quickly identify those who may present a danger to our students.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Principal Richard Piwowarski at rpiwowarski@reshs.org or 773-775-6616 Ext. 130.

Building Hours and Access

Safe and Respectful Environment

Resurrection College Prep High School strives to provide a safe, secure, and respectful environment for young women entrusted to its care. Students are to report any instances where they have experienced a breach in safety and security or any situations in which they feel unsafe. Such reporting can be made to a school counselor, the Dean, or another member of Administration.

Building Security

Building security is highly important and everyone’s responsibility. Therefore, everyone is strongly encouraged to alert a school staff member to anything that is unusual or suspicious. If you see something, say something. As a reminder, all visitors must enter through the Main Office. Doors are never to be opened for visitors — signs on outer doors direct visitors to the Main Office.

Building Access

The school building is open starting at 7:30 a.m.

Students and guests entering the building are to use door #1 (Main Entrance). All students and guests need to check in with the Main Office upon arrival.

Students are to use only doors #8 and #3 to exit the building.

Other doors are not to be used as exits. Exiting the building through the #5 and #6 doors will lead to an enclosed, locked area of the campus which offers no ability to leave that area. Therefore, doors #5 and #6 are to be used only in an emergency situation.

Students staying after the school day ends are to be under the direct supervision of a faculty or staff member.

The academic area of the building closes at 4:15 p.m. This area will be locked. Therefore, students will not have access to their lockers.

Students are encouraged to have their rides pick them up before 4 p.m. Students waiting for a ride after 4 p.m. are to wait outside the Main Office by door #1.

Off-campus behavior

Off-campus behavior that contributes to on-campus conflicts or violation of school rules will be addressed by the Dean’s Office. Additionally, behavior outside of school reflects on the reputation of the school. A pattern of student inappropriate off-campus behavior will result in consequences that may impact continued enrollment or other disciplinary sanctions, as warranted to maintain a safe and respectful school environment.

Safety & Security Reminders

Safety Reminders

Safety is our highest concern and we remind students, parents, and staff to immediately report any suspicious person or persons either on-campus or off, including incidents before or after school. Please refer to the Safety & Security section of the Student Handbook for additional information about safety on campus.

In the case of any emergency or suspicious activity, take the following steps:

Step 1 - Dial 911
Step 2 - Report incidents immediately to the Main Office.

We also remind students to utilize safe practices when traveling, including the following:

Uniform & Dress Code

The Resurrection College Prep uniform is to be purchased from Dennis Uniform Company located at 7055 W. Higgins Ave. in Chicago.

Students wear their uniform throughout the school day, including study and lunch periods. Uniforms are to be clean, neat, and in good repair. Uniform items that are too small or have rips or holes must be mended or replaced, as necessary. Skirts that cannot be altered to meet the length requirement must be replaced.

On days that the school assembles as a community, it is expected that all students are wearing the complete uniform with special attention to neatness. Students are expected to wear dress shoes or white, black, or grey athletic shoes on the days that the school celebrates a Mass or liturgy. Colored athletic shoes are not acceptable with the school uniform on these days.

The school uniform consists of a uniform polo, uniform skirt, shoes and socks, and the school ID must be worn around the neck on a red or black RES lanyard at all times.

Chromebook Policies and Accessible Use Policy

Concussion Policy

In compliance with the Illinois Youth Sports Concussion Safety Act, Resurrection College Prep High School will follow Return-to-Learn and, for athletes, Return-to-Play protocols to ensure all students who experience a concussion receive necessary support.

Report Bullying/Harassment

Bullying, intimidation, and harassment diminish a student’s ability to learn and the school’s ability to educate. Resurrection College Prep is committed to fostering a learning environment in which all students feel respected and safe. Harassment or bullying of any community members is considered a serious violation of Resurrection College Prep’s behavior code.

The information submitted through this report is confidential. The information will be used to help the Resurrection College Prep staff in addressing bullying and harassing behavior. All reports will be investigated and appropriate action taken.

Food Service/Cafeteria

We hope you had a great summer! We could not be more excited to start the year running the foodservice program at Resurrection! Our goal is simple; people leaving the cafeteria should be happy and well fed.

Every morning starts with homemade breakfast. The spread includes fresh eggs, from scratch pancakes and french toast, sausage, bacon, potatoes, breakfast sandwiches, fresh baked goods…the works. Our lunch menu includes our signature fresh ground hand packed burgers, homemade pizzas, roasted meats, fresh salads, sandwiches, and whole grain wraps, a daily pasta bar with homemade sauces, and of course our restaurant quality specials. As the year progresses, we will be consistently updating the menu and offering new choices and a wide variety, while maintaining the highest quality by using fresh ingredients and home-style recipes.

The Mealtime point of sale system is used for all purchases in the cafeteria. Students and/or parents can fund their accounts via credit card at mymealtime.com, or with cash or check (made payable to Country House) at the registers in the cafeteria. Please check out the school’s website for more information on Mealtime.

We continually strive to improve our service. It would be great to hear your suggestions and comments as we move along the school year. Please feel free to make a quick phone call or send us an e-mail (countryhouse@reshs.org) and let us know how we are doing. We would love to hear from you, and we are very proud to be a part of the Resurrection community!
